Joachim’s father was an agriculturalist. As a result, he spent part of his early life on a farm in Liberia, West Africa. This is where his interest in farming and processing food products all started.
In later years, he attended college, majored in Chemical Engineering, and embarked upon a career as a chemical engineer. His desire for wanting to grow, process, and package food products continued. He was ultimately driven by the need to provide hygienically processed Liberian foods with proper packaging to the marketplace. The first offerings included Spicy Hot & Smoked Herring Seasoning Salts, Banana Rice Bread and their now famous Shortbread Biscuit mix.
After Joachim & Tanae married, they decided to restart the business as an LLC in January of 2017. Since then, they have expanded the business online having added two additional products; Fried pepper sauce and Kitily pepper sauce. Dr. Tanae Acolatse worked as an accountant/manager for over 20 years in the paper industry. She started a second career as an entrepreneur and educator in online higher education. With Tanae’s background in accounting, business management, and marketing, sales have tremendously increased with redesigned labels and packaging.
